My trading story

Hey guys!

I would like to share my story with trading. I think I made all possible mistakes and lost a lot of money My trading story

I started in 2018 by investing in crypto, I did well because there was a bull market. A friend of mine got interested and gave me a lot of money in a deposit to buy crypto for him and manage portfolios. I was to buy and leave long term. I was more into technology and IT than trading. But I managed to buy well that after a month we had more than 100% profit. My partner went crazy and gave me even more money.

Again, we made a lot of money, but when the crash happened it was -60% of the account and still falling, it could hit -90%.

I said I would move the money to the forex market and trade with robots. I didn't know about trading, but I knew about technology My trading story So I thought I would make up for my lack of skills with EAs. My learning took place as I watched the bots trade and did thousands of backtests and tested different strategies. That's how I learned to trade. My ideas and strategies were great. On the other hand, pressure and impatience caused me to make riskier and riskier moves which led to losing a lot of money. I had the skills, but I couldn't handle my emotions. Everything I did was lost.

I gave up trading for a while and learned to trade manually and automate through EA and test strategies. I found some of my strategies to be stable and work long-term. I managed to win the FTMO challenge. It's a big step in trading how you stop losing money, you are a break-even trader, and then you start making more and more money.

My biggest findings:

- make space for ourselves to learn trading, in the sense of having another source of

income and play with such money that we will not feel bad to lose. It may be a little exciting, but forex is a long-term game, not a casino.

- Trading under strong emotions, pressure, FOMO, greed, fear of loss, revenge, and overtrading leads to bad experiences and traumas. Because we experience all possible emotions while investing. We have to face ourselves.

  • I believe that 90% of trading is psychology and the ability to deal with strong emotions and beliefs about money.

  • Trading is supposed to be fun, not a field of struggle and strife.

  • I learned manual trading first, with larger stop losses, trading on large time frames D1, W1. When I mastered this I started trying momentum trending strategies when the market is volatile.

  • Don't believe in miracles, or that a magical EA will solve all your problems. You need to learn to manage your risks. And know when to turn off the robot or launch another strategy. For me, the ability to do manual trading, risk management, and the use of EA robots gave the greatest results and success.

  • In trading as in any business, risks should be calculated, there are always worse and better periods. Sometimes I would lose for two months to finally make up all my losses in 2 days.

  • Every trader is different, has a different character and should find his style. Repeating someone else's successful techniques is good to get inspired, but you should leave room for experimentation and look for your unique strategies.

  • I was an entrepreneur for many years, and I can say that the same principles guided me, only that it all happened more slowly, so the mistakes made were delayed. In the forex market, you are you and the chart. You can't blame anyone for your decisions.

  • I started getting better results as I stopped listening to others. I started to rely completely on myself and my ideas. Other people's ideas created confusion and I didn't know what decision to make. I had no confidence in myself and didn't know quite what I was doing. Now when I lose I know why and that it is calculated in the risk.

  • It took me 2 years to believe on my own that it is possible to make money on forex. There are lots of scams and scammers and teachers. But I can say now that it is possible.

  • Learning to trade is a long-term process, so in the long run, the money I lost and all the mistakes I made ended up giving me a long-term profit. So, don’t give up!

It took me 4 years with breaks to start earning and all the time I am gaining new skills and every month is better.

I hope someone finds this post useful. If you have any questions let me know! All the best!
